MAKING
FOOD & CONTENT
FOR
SOCIAL GOOD
The Beginning
Food has always been the gateway to Chef Evelyn Yap's global adventures.
So much so, it motivated her to become a professional chef at the age of 33.
Her culinary training includes her graduating top of Le Cordon Bleu Class of 2016,
and then at Michelin-starred restaurants such as Rustic Canyon Santa Monica,
BOKA Chicago, Grace Chicago, as well as J’aime by Jean-Michel Lorain in Bangkok.
These experiences fortified Chef Evelyn's philosophy to always cook with the best ingredients.
Her ensuing search for quality ingredients led to a fateful road trip all across Thailand,
culminating in deep relationships with the local small-scale farmers and artisans.
Alongside her filmmaker husband Kelvin Mak, they founded Happivore by Evelyn Yap® –
a social enterprise platform using food and original media content to raise food awareness.
Now in their third year, Happivore has created supper clubs & dining events in
SE Asia & the United States, and continually create videos to engage a global audience.
Happivore's latest venture is the purveying of natural foods & quality ingredients
curated by Chef Evelyn for the world to experience.
Why Make Content
We love food.
We love food with stories even more.
By combining the power of food and stories,
my filmmaker husband and I create original
food & discovery content for a global audience.
Recipe videos for busy folks.
Hidden gems not found in brochures.
Real human stories that inspire.
All for the purpose of doing more social good.
Products for Social Good
Discovery. Relationship. Trust. Evolve.
These are the four pillars that form our latest venture into Happivore natural products.
All our products are sourced directly from our farmer-partners with a "better than fair trade" deal,
which significantly improves the lives of the local communities.
We believe in the quality, flavor, and integrity because
we use everything we sell in our professional kitchen.
Now you can enjoy them, and do some social good as well.
